Oxytocin is known as the love hormone. It is a type of hormone in the body that promotes positive feelings.
Oxytocin has a very important role in child birth. It helps to stimulate the muscles of the uterus to contract thus helping baby to be born. It also is important in having a let down of milk to feed the baby.
Oxytocin is also known to reduce stress and anxiety levels to promote relaxation, trust and psychological stability. Low levels of Oxytocin is linked to depression and postpartum depression.
Ways to increase Oxytocin naturally are:
• Exercise
• Listening to music
• Cuddling
• Making love
• Giving someone a hug
• Giving someone a massage
As you can see I'm always high on Oxytocin because I'm always giving someone a massage :) Make sure you're high on the love hormone and floating along too!
